The "Item 069" Fiasco leads to a name change
Information:
1996...Fun and good times while it lasted...

After deciding on using Scott as the lead vocalist, the band adjusted to its new 3-piece setup. Jon didn't come to many practices and so Steve started to develop a style of guitar playing that was more bass-heavy to make up for the missing low-end in practices. To this day Steve plays the same style, which tends to cause problems now that there is a full-time real bassist. ITEM 069 played a couple of parties and played at the high school. They played songs that people liked the words to. They never took themselves too seriously.

By the time we played at the high school (we invited Vinny to join us for this show), people thought the band name was referring to sex, but it was actually referring to an empty box of maple syrup in Scott's basement that had a big "ITEM 069" logo on it.

The confusion regarding the name soon led to a name change.

Songs from this time include Don't Ask, Jelly Bean, Whisper, and Sadness 521.
